Autism and Behavioural Science
Interested in working as an instructor therapist in an Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) program? This Ontario College Graduate Certificate program provides you with a firm grounding in the principles and practices of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA); specifically, in the application of ABA to IBI with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The curriculum covers the range of evidence-based practices in autism treatment, the characteristics of ASD, as well as child development and augmentative communication systems.
Graduates of the program work predominantly with children and career opportunities may include ASD treatment teams, school boards, community agencies and family settings.
Part and full time online program.
This program is well-suited for students who:

Are a proficient communicator.
Are detail-oriented and enjoy evaluating and implementing evidence-based interventions.
Are comfortable working with interdisciplinary, professional teams.
Graduates may find employment as instructor-therapists with public-sector and private-sector agencies offering intensive behavioural intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, or as independent contractors in private family settings.
